Canteen

Abermain Public School's Canteen operates depending on availability of volunteers. Profits made from the canteen assist the P&C Association with their fundraising for the school. Volunteers are placed on a roster system on the days of their choice. Our canteen is always looking for helpers, so if you can assist, please let the school or canteen know. You'll be made feel very welcome. Due to regulations, pre-school aged children and younger are not allowed within the canteen.

The Fresh Tastes NSW Health School Canteen Strategy requires all NSW government schools to provide a healthy, nutritious canteen menu in line with the Australian Dietary Guidelines for Children and Adolescents. In line with this, our canteen provides a variety of nutritious lunches, drinks, ice-blocks and snack foods.

The canteen receives student's lunch orders from 9am until 9:15am every morning. Orders are to be written on a paper bag with their name and class clearly marked. Lunch orders are collected by each class and handed out to students. Lunch order re-usage bags can be purchased at the school canteen.

From Term 3, 2023 the canteen will be open for lunch four days per week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday)
